Tips for parking in Milan
In Milan, paying for parking has never been easier thanks to the EasyPark app. Our parking app allows you to manage your parking time and payment directly from your smartphone quickly and securely.
Your all-in-one parking app for Milan’s districts and attractions
Milan, the hub of Italian fashion and art, offers numerous tourist attractions along with important business and financial districts. The historic city centre is home to the majestic Milan Cathedral, the renowned La Scala Theatre, and the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Other central areas like Brera, famous for its boutiques and art galleries, and San Siro, known for its impressive stadium, are equally popular.
With the EasyPark app, you can easily check parking availability near these cultural and historical landmarks and enjoy a worry-free stroll through the city centre.
For those who prefer to avoid central city traffic, there's the option to park outside the busiest areas and use the metro for getting around. Milan’s efficient metro network quickly connects the suburbs to the heart of the city. The metro also serves other popular areas such as the Quadrilatero della Moda, ideal for luxury shopping enthusiasts, and the Navigli, known for their picturesque canals and vibrant nightlife.
Restricted Traffic Zone (ZTL) in Milan
Milan's city centre features Restricted Traffic Zones (ZTL). These areas, regulated by controlled access, aim to reduce vehicular traffic, improve air quality, and protect historical centres. Access to ZTL is permitted only to authorized vehicles during specific time slots with active restrictions. These areas have active cameras monitoring possible infringements of the rules of ZTL’s.
Area B is the largest zone. Access is prohibited for the most polluting vehicles and those that are over 12 meters long. Cameras monitoring the zone are active from Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, excluding holidays. No payment is required for authorized vehicles.
Area C covers the more central areas of the city, with even stricter rules for certain types of vehicles. Surveillance cameras are active from Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, excluding Saturdays and holidays. Entry for permitted vehicles in Area C costs €7.50.
If you qualify to enter these zones, you need to obtain a permit by registering your vehicle on the city’s official website. Drivers entering these zones without a permit during restricted hours risk heavy fines. To avoid these penalties, EasyPark helps you safely park outside the ZTL. With EasyPark, you can still pay for parking, but not the entrance fee for Area C.
